Matthew Anderson, director of Chadwick Model Management, said he was stoked to have uncovered "rare" gems in a casting call for everyday people at MSFW.The "Cinderella" models were spied at a Melbourne Spring Fashion Week "real people" parade on Monday but left before a talent scout could meet them.
"It was fantastic to find so much talent at a casting call, that is so rare," he said.
Melton schoolgirl Tailah Foley, 17, and Malaysian-born beauty Shhobaa Palan, 23, will take to the catwalk as part of the Target fashion parade during MSFW.
The girls have been plucked from obscurity, much like Jessica Hart, who was discovered at Eastland Shopping Centre.
Foley said she had "one crazy day", but it was not the first time she had been in the spotlight. At 16, the leggy teen was spied shopping on Bourke St by a savvy model scout from PriModels.
The agency took her to New York for a 10-day sweep of the top agencies.
Elite Models expressed interest in Tailah but she'd have had to leave school and stay in New York for six months. Tailah decided school should come first.
"I wanted to finish school so I didn't end up taking the deal," she said. "Compared to today, New York was nothing. I would love to finish school and work as a model in Melbourne."
Gorgeous international accounting student Shhobaa Palan woke with a start. "My brother woke me up this morning and was like 'You are in the paper'," she said.
Shhobaa had planned to volunteer as an usher until the "real people" search caught her eye.
"I never expected this," she said. "All I was thinking when I was on the runway was don't fall, don't fall!"
Tailah's parents were thrilled. "Our Tailah is just gorgeous, we love her to bits," said proud dad Darryl.
